Towner Community Appeal

Help us make life a little bit better for those most vulnerable in our community

The current crisis is impacting us all – none more so than those in our community who have recently become unemployed, are surviving on low incomes or who are in long-term isolation.

Over 7,000 children in Eastbourne are living in poverty – that’s almost 20% of our town’s young people. We are directly helping those who are being hardest hit, by providing creative kit bags of art materials and activity ideas. We hope these will encourage both children and adults to get creative at home, and we have included a blank postage-paid postcard for people to share with us what they have made.

We are delivering kits to families most in need through our partners Eastbourne Borough Council, Eastbourne Food Bank and local community organisation Community Stuff, all of whom provide a vital lifeline to so many. We are also distributing them to carers of loved ones through the Association of Carers, to refugees and asylum seekers through Eastbourne Networx, and are receiving urgent requests from more community organisations daily.

From May, we will be reaching out to more of our community through online artist-led workshops on Instagram and Facebook, sharing creative and fun ideas for everyone.

We all know that art and creativity can really benefit people’s health and wellbeing, so please help us to support those most in need in our community with a gift.

Two amazing donors have made it possible for us to match every £1 you give with a further £1.

Your gift is more than a donation, it is an act of kindness towards others in our community.

I’ll help provide creative kit bags and workshops.
