Fuse Box is Towner’s space to allow visitors to explore the themes in our Arts Council Collection National Partner exhibitions, in new and exciting ways.
Welcome to our free sensory space for visitors of all ages – open during normal gallery hours. Take time out to reflect in a specially designed meditative environment, created in response to The Weather Garden: Anne Hardy curates The Arts Council Collection. Alongside gently pulsating lights and atmospheric music, experience vibrating platforms and immerse yourself in an alternative reality. There are drawing and reading activities to further support your wellbeing. The room contains elements familiar to more traditional sensory spaces for those with learning disabilities. We invite everyone to relax and enjoy the space.
Please consider the following:
- Supervision is not provided, so take full responsibility for yourself and others with you in the space. Children must not be left alone.
- If possible, take your shoes off before entering the soft corner. Cubby holes are provided under the book shelves.
- Keep the door open at all times. This is a public gallery where the safety of all our visitors is paramount.
- Please leave the space as you would wish to find it.
If you would like to arrange a private session, have any feedback, or spot something amiss in the space, we’d love to hear from you. Please complete a feedback form available at the front desk or email the Learning Team via firstname.lastname@example.org
