Hiring: Learning Curator: Children and Young People
Posted on 4/10/2021
Towner Eastbourne is currently seeking a Learning Curator: Children and Young People.
We are looking for a Learning Curator with a focus on families, children and young people.
As part of a new programme Making Together you will work with groups, communities and artists both inside the gallery and off site to create new work together. You will devise and manage programmes with families, schools, young people and students.
As well as developing new strands of work you will:
- Manage a new programme of weekly workshops for parents and under 4s both in the gallery and in the community
- Structure school visits to the gallery and deliver artist-led projects in schools
- Strengthen partnerships with schools and colleges towards shaping meaningful opportunities for work experience and skills development
As part of the Learning team you will support new practice in the field of gallery engagement. Your working practice will be influenced by, and in turn inform, the ways work is displayed in the gallery. You will develop meaningful relationships between community spaces and the gallery environment.
We particularly encourage applications from people with a disability and people from Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds as these groups are currently underrepresented in the cultural sector and within the organisation. As a Disability Confident Committed Employer, we are committed to offering an interview to candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria for the role.
