Theatre of Sound: Rita Evans
During October half term, Towner International artist Rita Evans is hosting a series of fun workshops for families in Studio 2. As an artist, Rita makes live performance and sculpture and she is inviting families to take part in a series of specially-designed creative challenges in a Covid-secure environment.
Family bubbles of no more than 6, will be introduced to their own selection of simple materials such as string, buckets and cardboard. In their own socially distanced working spaces they’ll be invited to experiment with the shapes and sounds they can make, with Rita providing playful prompts along the way. Each family will make individual sculptures and whilst never physically mixing with any other family group, with Rita’s choreography the whole group will explore making sound and listening collectively.
These sessions are designed for full family engagement with activity most suitable for children aged 4+.
Please note, these sessions will be exploring collective sound-making, and may not be suitable for those who find loud environments difficult.
Cleaning will take place after each session.
