Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert

“Great. That’s just what this country needs, a cock in a frock on a rock.”

We’re kicking off Eastbourne Pride weekend with a bang – Priscilla was an unexpectedly huge hit on its release in 1994, helping to introduce LGBT themes to a mainstream audience, and has remained a beloved classic of the queer canon ever since.

Leaving Sydney in a beat-up lavender tour bus, named Priscilla, transgender woman Bernadette (Terence Stamp) joins drag queens Mitzi (Hugo Weaving) and Felicia (Guy Pearce) to blaze a flaming trail across the outback to faraway Alice Springs; performing for gobsmacked locals, standing up to intolerance and scaling Australia’s rugged landscape in (Academy Award-winning) drag.

Join us from 6pm in the Cinema Bar for a Pride-themed cocktail before the film.
