LGBTQ+=equals me. A skip, a hop and a jump

Funded by a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, this short film has come out of a yearlong partnership project involving Towner Eastbourne, Hastings Museum and Art Gallery, De La Warr Pavilion, Ditchling Museum of Art and Craft, Charleston Trust and the Keep (East Sussex records office).

The project has involved engaging LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans or Questioning) young people from across East Sussex in their local LGBTQ cultural heritage.

The film is made up of 5 poetic digital stories that look at the meanings of pride, use of the word ‘gay’, being trans with links to the mythical and natural world, as well as posing the question ‘is there such a thing as queer art?’. The film was facilitated by Vincent Dance Theatre.
