Saturday 24th July

Enter Edem : Comedy Cavemen

A posse of Palaeolithic cavemen characters causing mischief and spreading an environmental message, you better hold onto your snacks as these silly hunter-gatherers aren’t quite civilized yet! This team of toothy trouble makers will have audiences laughing and running to the recycling bin as they tell the tale (through grunts and groans) of their time spent frozen in ice to be awoken into a world of plastic problems to be solved.

Beautiful Creatures Theatre : Bell Orchestra

Bell Orchestra is an interactive musical game for families, that invites audiences of all ages to come together to play beautiful melodies on a set of giant chimes. Guided by performers the participant percussionists follow patterns and improvisational instructions to strike the chimes with their beaters, each chime playing a different note with striking resonance. Audiences stop to listen to the unique sounds, captivated by the spectacle and charmed by the joy of watching participants learn the sequences and tuning in to each other. With a playful invitation and ceremonial tone, this unique instrument will create many memorable moments of togetherness throughout the event.

Beautiful Creatures Theatre : Rat Choc Chip

Is there something moving in the chocolate chips? Can you hear a squeak from the rainbow sprinkles? Are those little footprints in the raspberry swirl? Everyone loves ice cream, so queue up at the Rat Choc Chip ice cream cart for a tail of the unexpected and a double scoop with a furry surprise. A very funny new walkabout performance from Beautiful Creatures Theatre. Be charmed by the lovable and haphazard ice cream vendor, help with her desperate attempts to keep her furry friends out of sight of the health inspector, and see if you can tell the difference between chocolate sprinkles and well, let’s just say, little rodent ‘gifts’! The performance will wander about your event, finding opportunities to entertain and disgust your audiences with this hilarious and engaging show.

Dizzy O’Dare : Do Do Rider

Walkabout, roaming show by Dizzy O’Dare. The Dodo rider is a highly interactive and fun walkabout. www.dizzyodare.com

Rust & Stardust : Tweethearts

A wonderful puppetry tale to delight all ages. When Miss Maisie and Miss Daisie have to close the Sweethearts Tea Room, the birds who live in the eaves and feed on leftover cake decide to open for business as usual. Mayhem ensues as Wren and Sparrow battle baking, fight with flour and tinker with tea leaves – and deal with some very cross customers!

Bootwork Theatre : JukeBoxes

Two beautiful 1950’s Jukeboxes sit side-by-side. Watch them spring to life as two performers (hidden inside) re-create classic pop music videos in a lip-syncing musical medley. Using props, masks, puppets, and a terrible selection of wigs, the kitsch duo bring to life some of our favourite celebrity pop-stars from past and present. The Beatles, Sinead O’Connor, Miley Cyrus, Stevie Wonder, and Adele all make cameos – and audiences are encouraged to sing or dance along with the show. The show is played in repetition throughout the event, come along and singalong whatever your age, there’s a little something for everyone.

Frolicked : SEEING RED

A storytelling/puppetry show that is a modern reworking of the classic fairy tale Red Riding Hood. Seeing Red tells the tale of a girl who learns how to take matters into her own hands and become master of her own fate. A furry suitcase unfolds into a wolf. A Grandma has a fiery passion. A little girl finds out that it’s ok to get angry sometimes. And a twist sees Little Red become the true heroine of this classic tale. Full of red-related surprises, a dose of humour, a mini mob of original puppet characters, and some very special effects, all crammed into a massive, furry suitcase. Watch out Wolfie – Little Red is in town!

Smoking Apples : Arbor The Tree Part Man.

Part Tree. 17 feet tall. Meet Arbor. Created by award-winning puppetry and theatre company Smoking Apples Follow Arbor as he strides around, vanishing between trees and emerging with his cart full of tree saplings. Arbor tells the story of a tree pushed from his home and his fight to preserve his future, featuring amazing puppets, and beautiful visual storytelling, we learn how Arbor came to be. Encouraging the audience to plant and nurture their own trees, Arbor will give each family a gift to take home, leaving a legacy that will last for generations.
