Battle Royale

Your geography field trip was never like this.

In 2001 veteran Japanese director Kinji Fukasaku shocked audiences around the world with his futuristic satire of extreme behavioural control, where high schoolers are forced to kill each other on a remote island until only one remains. Twenty years later it is still as brutal, as breathtaking and as relevant as ever.

Join the Cult Film Club for a welcome return to the Towner this Halloween weekend for a screening of the spectacular 4K restoration of Battle Royale, with an introduction from Dr. Adrian Smith, founder of the Cult Film Club, alongside a selection of retro adverts, trailers and music!

School uniforms optional, but encouraged.

Towner Cinema Safety Procedures

For all upcoming screenings we will operate with a reduced capacity of 50 seats out of a possible 84.  This will generally allow for one vacant space between audience groups.

We will also continue to strongly encourage the wearing of masks during our screenings (unless exempt) and request that no food or drink is consumed within the cinema.
