Abstract Drawing: What makes something abstract?

James William Murray, Installation view, Project 78 Gallery, St Leonard’s on Sea, UK, 2017

This summer, we’re working with four artists to make the holidays exciting, creative and fun. Every week we’re holding a free workshop based around the practice of that week’s resident artist.

This week we will be drawing the shapes and views around the building and James William Murray, our artist in residence, will help us make them more and more abstract until…who knows?

James is an artist, curator, and educator based in Brighton. He has exhibited internationally and is represented by Stephane Simoens Contemporary Fine Art, Belgium and his work is held in the collection of the Hellenic Centre for Photography (Greece), The SPBH library (London) and collections through Belgium, France, Greece, Italy, The Netherlands, the UK and the USA.
