The De la Warr Pavilion, Jerwood Gallery, and Towner – three of the most exciting visual arts galleries in the UK – have joined forces to create a cultural trail which promises a fabulous weekend of great art, great food and the great outdoors! The three award-winning galleries share a stunning 20 mile stretch of East Sussex coastline, which – less than 90 minutes from London – is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway.

The Coastal Culture Trail will launch on the weekend of 8-9 June 2013, during which there will be a variety of special events taking place across the three galleries as well as special offers from food and accommodation partners. Visitors can enjoy exhibitions of Fiona Rae, the Chapman Brothers, Shaun Gladwell, William Scott and a display of modern British portraits – as well as art and architectural tours, family fun and comedy by Henning Wehn!

Take time out to explore Bexhill’s contemporary seafront, Hastings’ Old Town or Eastbourne Pier. All three towns are full of quirky independent shops to browse at your leisure. You can also venture into the stunning natural landscape of Beachy Head and the South Downs National Park, to experience the downland and coastal scenes which have inspired many well-known artworks. Make the most of your coastal getaway with some great cuisine – from a ‘Hastings Catch’ gourmet dinner of locally caught fish at Jerwood Café, overlooking Hastings’ famous fishing beach, to retro seaside cafés and new foodie hotspots.

Please see the attached PDF press release for a full schedule of exhibitions and events over the weekend and further details of offers.

Towner is pleased to offer free Collection Store tours and 2 for 1 on all hot drinks to anyone quoting ‘Coastal Culture Trail’, while our Eastbourne partners are offering a free glass of finest house fizz with dinner bookings and 20% off accommodation. For more information please visit:
