Annual Schools Exhibition

Our Annual Schools exhibition is one of the UK’s largest displays of children’s art work. This year, we are excited to be taking the exhibition on the road as part of Eastbourne Carnival. The Carnival will be taking place on 27th May over the Bank Holiday weekend.

We will be working with Same Sky, a local group of Carnival artists to run free workshops for all schools who wish to take part in the project. These workshops can take place either at Towner or at your school.

The theme for our 2017 project is the Pattern of Friendship and we are drawing inspiration from four works by Eric Ravilious from Towner’s collection:

  • Eric Ravilious, Maria and Clown (1931)
  • Eric Ravilious, Six Cups: Designs for Wedgewood (1937)
  • Eric Ravilious, Manor Gardens (1927)
  • Eric Ravilious, Ribbon Rosette Design (1935)

These works will be on display at Towner from 4th February – 17th April.
