We are delighted to be presenting works by artists shortlisted for the prestigious Jarman Award. The six shortlisted artists’ works will be screened continuously throughout the day in the Junction Box.
The Film London Jarman Award recognises and supports artists working with moving image and celebrates the spirit of experimentation, imagination and innovation in the work of emerging artist filmmakers. Now in its ninth year, the Award has a reputation for spotting rising stars of the UK art world.
This year’s shortlist is Sophia Al Maria, Cécile B. Evans, Shona Illingworth, Rachel Maclean, Heather Phillipson and Mikhail Karikis, who will discuss his current work and practice in a talk at Towner.
**Please note that the films will not be shown for the duration of artist Mikhail Karikis’ talk at 3pm, 15 Oct, but will be shown all day before and after this event.**
