Arts Award Explore – Home Education Group

A new club designed for residents of Eastbourne who home-educate. Led by local artist Georgina Leonard, children will study artists and artworks in our current exhibitions whilst creating their very own portfolio, with the chance to gain a nationally recognised Arts Award Explore qualification.

Toy Hacking

Build, cut, hack, stick and sew – you will learn how to use different tools and techniques to make your own mutant creations! Reusing toys destined for landfill, we support you to make your own hybrid toy or sculpture with artist collective Exploring Senses and members of the Towner team.

3D Pens

Wed 24 Oct | 11.00am to 1.00pm & 2.00pm to 4.00pm

Make your 2D drawings and designs come to life by creating them as 3D Objects in this combined arts, crafts and digital workshop with Exploring Senses. Discover how to make 3D drawings using fantastic 3D pens. Within 10 minutes of learning how to use a 3D pen you will be making small, awesome objects, before progressing onto bigger sculptures and designs.

Wall-E

Thu 25 Oct | 4.30pm

WALL-E (short for Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-class), is the last robot left on Earth after humans have abandoned the planet. Clearing the planet one piece of rubbish at a time, he’s become lonely during his 700 years alone. After spotting EVE, a beautiful probe robot sent to Earth on a scanning mission WALL-E embarks on his greatest mission and sets out to follow EVE across the galaxy.

Digital Cardboard Crafting

Thu 25 Oct | 1.00pm to 4.00pm

Mixing arts, crafts & 3D scanning, Exploring Senses artists will assist you to design and make a mask or costume and then use technology to animate it! Using recycled cardboard, tape and our brilliant Posca Paint pens, you will create an amazing mask or costume.

Talking Pictures 

Fri 26 Oct | 11.00am to 3.00pm

Learn to make your own interactive sonic artwork! Build and play an analog Korg Littlebits synthesizer, then record the sounds you create. Once you’re happy with your new sounds, you can then make your own interactive sound artwork using Posca Paint pens and conductive ink.

Ernest and Celestine

From the creators of The Secret of Kells and Belleville Rendez-vous comes Ernest and Celestine, a charming animation which tells the story of the most unlikely of friendships: between a bear, Ernest, and a young mouse, named Celestine. When dentist-in-training Celestine is out at night on a tooth hunting trip, she bumps into Ernest, far from home and more than a little out of sorts. After convincing him not to eat her, they forge a friendship disapproved of by the authorities of both bear and mouse society.

Arts Award Discover – After School Club

We’re running our second after-school club with artist duo FotoFonty, we will be exploring ideas and themes in the exhibition. Children will work with a range of different materials including collage, drawing, photography and typography.

Bourne Primary After School Club

Thu 29 Nov | 4.00pm to 5.00pm

Developed in partnership with Brighton-based creative writing agency Little Green Pig, this club will explore ideas in the exhibition in greater depth whilst developing literacy skills. Children will work towards a nationally recognised certificate Arts Award Discover.
