Tiny Towner Takeover Day
On Friday 20 November, Towner Art Gallery are inviting under 5s and their parents and carers into the gallery to let them be the boss for the day, as part of Kids in Museums’ Takeover Day.
This is a chance for our younger audience to test run the gallery’s new resources, have full use of the exhibition spaces and letting staff know what they think.
To get things started, we will have a stroll along the seaside with a Buggy Train. It will be leaving Eastbourne’s Redoubt Fortress at 09.40 and will arrive at Towner in time for the first Tiny Towner Takeover session. This Buggy Train is free to take part in, but please book your place so it doesn’t leave without you – just contact Jessica on Jessica.firstname.lastname@example.org.
Participants can take part in any of the free activities:
- 9.40am – Buggy Train, leaving from Eastbourne’s Redoubt Fortress, free to participate
- 10.30am-12pm – Tiny Towner Takeover – Drop in Session 1 at Towner
- 1pm-2.30pm – Tiny Towner Takeover – Drop in Session 2 at Towner
In both Tiny Towner Takeover sessions, children will get a chance to get creative with some messy play, to explore with our new tent and special jackets. There will even be a singing and storytelling in the galleries.
There will also be taste testing of new children friendly menu items at Urban Ground café.
Takeover Day is a celebration of children and young people’s contributions.Takeover Day is run and coordinated by Kids in Museums, an independent charity dedicated to making museums open and welcoming to families, in particular, those who haven’t visited before.
