Learning
Towner – and its collection – is a unique learning resource for pupils and students at every level of education. There are many ways in which your class or group can benefit.
Schools and colleges programme
Our award-winning learning programme is enabling pupils from across Sussex to engage in art and explore creative practice.
Taking our collection, exhibitions or architecture as a starting point, we provide a bespoke experience which meets your pupils’ learning objectives. We offer:
• Gallery and Collection Store tours – £2 per pupil
• Artist led workshops – £5 per pupil
• Opportunity to book our learning spaces – subject to availability

Collection Connections teachers’ pack
This resource pack, suitable for all key stages, takes a closer look at eight works from the
Towner Collection. It provides information on the artists; questions and starting points to help
pupils understand and evaluate; practical ideas to explore and create; signposts to other works
in the collection and curriculum links. It includes a CD of images of all featured and related
collection works. The pack is available for £5 from our shop.
Collection works from the teachers’ pack can be loaned to schools for up to 6 weeks through
our schools and colleges membership scheme.
