The Future is Ours workshop
Posted on 2/11/2015
Towner Art Gallery is offering tours and workshops for schools and colleges alongside our new exhibition of over 200 works by acclaimed photographer Julian Germain titled, The Future is Ours, Classroom Portraits, 2004 – 2015 (running until 10 January 2016). The exhibition brings together photography and film documenting classrooms around the world including especially created portraits made with four Eastbourne schools.
The exhibition provides an excellent route into discussing equality and diversity alongside spiritual, moral, social and cultural subject matter. Workshops range from photography, portraiture, collage and creative writing and make links with SMSC subject matter as appropriate to the exhibition and your group. The tour and workshop will open up opportunity for students to discuss their own experience of education. Students will be encouraged to compare and contrast the culturally diverse educational environments within Germain’s photographic studies and produce a creative response of their own.
Each session can accommodate up to 30 people with an artist educator supported by a Gallery Assistant and can be tailored to suit the needs of your group.
Half-day artist-led workshop sessions including tour of the exhibition: £175
